My Simple Trick For Making Things Happen in 2017

2017 is coming in hot. I love the influx of conversation I hear among moms, which goes something like this…

I want to feel more patient with my children.

I want to be inspired and feel purposeful at work.

I want to feel heard, seen and understood by partner.

I want more time to myself.

I want to laugh more.

I want to feel at peace.

I want to feel alive.

I want to feel like I’m getting ‘it’ right (whatever it is).

Now what? You’ve declared how you want to feel or what you want, and might have even gone as far as setting a goal, but have you noticed how quickly life gets in the way? Suddenly, that thing you were going to change gets shoved to the side, and before you know it, 2017 is starting to look a lot like 2016.

Wanna learn a trick to help you show up for yourself this year and taking action toward how it is you want to feel and what it is you want to create? Inside of CWM, we pick one word that best describes our theme for the year. This is a word that when you say it, it energizes you in leaning into your edge to take the action needed to make a change. These themes help you live intentionally and create tidal waves in the direction you want to go.

My theme for the year is courage.

Why courage?

In my relationship, being courageous would support me in being more vulnerable and deepen our intimacy on every level.

Inside CWM, being courageous would allow me to make a greater impact. Full stop.

As a mother of three boys, being courageous would allow me to detach even more from how society thinks we should be raising our children, and trust my instincts even more.

Once you have your word, you’ll quickly see how you can begin to use it to create what it is you want. Quick story for you: I recently discovered Taryn Toomey, who’s the founder of The Class. Now, if you aren’t familiar with The Class, OhMG. It operates on  the premise of the ‘way you move your body is the way you live your life.’ It’s cathartic in every way possible, set to the best playlist every time. Currently, The Class by Taryn Toomey is only available in NYC and LA, but it’s growing quickly.

I became such a believer in this class that I’ve turned many of my LA/NYC clients onto it. I felt so strongly that I wanted to offer moms the opportunity to experience The Class in combination with my process. Because I’m fairly new to The Class, I didn’t have loads of relationships in place to pull this off. What I did have, however, was my theme for the year: courage. Long story short, I’m co-teaching an incredible workshop in LA on 1/17 with Natalie Kuhn, Taryn Toomey’s right-hand girl. Tickets can be purchased here!

Here’s to experiencing the best version of yourself in 2017,
